My1996 MonteCarloLS,service engine light starts flashing,car just died at 40mph,no warning,motor turning but labored,wont turn over,checked spark&gas,ok. Motor just turns and occationaly sputters HELP

2 weeks back engine light came on diagnostic code read Misfire Detected, but
next day when went to chase it down, service engine light went off on its own did
another diagnostic and the code cleared itself. Never had any problems with car in
the past. I even tried a booster pack with the New Battery, still nothing, engine
turns but laborered(slow), when it does turn fast enough, motor sputters but wont
turn over. I pulled the plugs and they were ok, I pulled  the rail and the pump is
pushing the gas in. Does anyone have any ideas? Im stuck, and fustrated!! HELP

you could have lose connection to one of your plugs or a bad wire connecting to the spark plug which would cause a failure in a spark randomly cuasing the misfire and light to randomly come on or go off

possible crank sensor or wires . if the sensor is ok inspect wires going to it they are against timing cover , they can chaff over time and shortout
