2002 Monte Carlo 3.8 SS engine code

My Monte 3.8 had a PO118 CTS circuit
High so I replaced CTS erased code and
drove car. It ran good for 3 miles then
light came back on Temp gauge
stopped working again. Now  Running
rough..
Any ideas?

The code may be from the thermostat not opening at the right temp. the other problem may be unrelated , buy AC Delco OEM part to avoid junk part as best you can . What do the plugs look like , is the spark good ?
