tuning a carburetor

i have a Holley 500 cfm 2 barrel on a basically stock smb 350 in a 1994
chevy k1500 has a tiny stage one cam and alumina heads bored to a 202
the problem is I'm using an old carburetor that has been rebuilt and i have no
idea where the fuel and air mixture needles need to be set anyone have a
good setting I'm not looking for major performance just wanting it to be able
to drive properly i have no clue what I'm doing as far as tuning a carburetor
goes

I always started out with two and a half turns out on the screws and then set it up from there, with the cam you most likely will need more fuel and air setting then factory.

Turn the screws in until they're lightly seated. Then turn them out the two and one half turns as GA recommends. Start the engine and let it fully warm up. Then make your final adjustments to get the smoothest idle. If you have an automatic transmission the final adjustment should be done with the transmission in drive, vacuum advance or electronic advance at the distributor disconnected (vacuum advance hose should be plugged), and the parking brake set.
