Just bought a clean(body)1999 Silverado 1500 that seems to have a loud rod knock,what do I do?

A 1999 Silverado w/227K on the truck.Has a v.loud knock, presuming a rod.So
what do I do to ready it for the next 100k?check tranny(re-do)I guess?This truck
is an ext.cab w/3rd dr. and has been in the garage.Need it for personal use.At
60 yrs.old I'll be keeping this one.Thanks @B.AldenHunter@Yahoo.Com
