I would recommend that you do whats called a "face lift conversion" that is, if your adamant about doing so and have the money to spend. Sounds like a cool project! Just an FYI... It's probably more costly to do the conversion, rather than to find an nice OE fitting aftermarket grille. Hope this helps? Cheers!
