If car starts then runs just a few seconds ,, it's a classic security issue ... that years used a resistor instead of a transponder ,,,, clean the key .. just in case I'm wrong (it happens) and it does have a battery inside the key you may need to pop the key open and change the battery,,,, if you have a spare key ,,try that first
