Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Your year choise did not cover my 1998. Can you answer my question?
Will not start unless the key is in run position, then I have to raise the hood,
remove cover from starter relay and activete the switch and it starts right
away. I tried a new relay same thing. is it in my ignition switch or something

It be in the ignition switch, unless this is a manual transmission. Then there is a clutch safety switch that could be bad. A neutral safety switch also but more uncommon.

Thanks. It is an automatic. I ckecked the neutral switch it worked but only had 7.65 volts to it.
