Engine hits but won't run

Asked by Chuck_whitt May 22, 2016 at 02:26 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LB 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

My friend changed engines from a 4.3 to a 5.7 in
his 92 Chevy four wheel drive, the problem is as
soon as it starts the injectors stop firing, can
anyone please help us with this problem. It's
driving us batty. People keep telling him the two
engines will run on the same system. I think it
needs the ecu for the5.7.     To who ever answered
thank you so much, I'll pass it on!

You cannot just switch engine sizes and go. You need to make sure that the injector and the ecu will work as well. If you need to replace the engine, then you will need to change ecu and injector for that engine size. When the injector is trying to work, the ecu is telling it there is something wrong and it is failing.
