Electricle problem?

Last night driving to my moms I noticed
the battery gauge kept dipping way down.
Earlier that would they get down just a
little and I could I revved it up and it went
back up to normal, but this time I couldn't
go fast enough to get it to move. Spent
some time at moms, but on my way home
I noticed that the batt. gauge was low and
the lights were going dim started driving  
faster to see if I could build up some juice
or at least make to a turn off. Poring rain,
windshield wipers stopped working lights
went completely dead ended up pushing it
about 1/4 of a mile w/ no emergency
lights in the freezing rain, (i know boo
hoo), took the batt. With me to get
charged. Next day put the battery on went
to start it idle would go up and down. I'd
started it again none of the gauges were
working right got a few miles down the
road and it died again. There it is fellas,
can ya help.
