After sitting I go to turn my key wait for the fuel pump to push fuel into the throttle body. My truck has a tendency of being a hard start

My 2000 5.3 Silverado has an issue of being a hard
start I replace the fuel pump but have not yet
replaced the fuel filter I turn the key and it cranks
over almost like it's not allowing the fuel to shoot
all the way up into the motor I could Pump It 2 or 3
times to get fuel up there but I know it is not
supposed to do that it should be when you turn the
key it should shoot enough you up to start it. I
replace the fuel relay and the fuel pump wondering
if my fuel filter could cause the issue

Oh yeah once I get driving it it runs absolutely fantastic it idles fantastic at stop lights only when I have to start it after I turn the ignition off

Your fuel pump may be starting to get weak, fuel pressure should be checked. If you start getting under the rated fuel pump pressure, then it causes a hard starting condition, and if let go it will eventually not start at all. First start by changing the fuel filter out, may be a plugged fuel filter. If the problem persist, then the fuel pressure should be checked.
