What's the difference between a 1500 and a 2500?

Question type: General
Is the difference in the suspension, motor, trans or what. I have a 2000
Silverado Z71 1500 with the towing package. What do I have to do to upgrade
for it to do what a 2500 can do.

beef up the suspension...they make kits for that.
You might as well buy a 2500 (3/4 ton) truck. The Z71 1500 is a 1/2 ton truck which is a bit heavy-er than the 4x4 truck. The 1500 is 6 lug wheels, with gas engine. the 2500 is a 8 lug rim usually called the Deramax 2500 diesel truck.
I'm in Montana. Who has these kits to beef up the suspension? Can they be ordered online?
call/ look up any 4x4offroad shp....dont let the off road words fool you...it just a matter if money > heres one of 100 places> //www.realtruck.com/suspension/chevy/silverado-1500/2016/? gclid=Cj0KEQjw7- K7BRCkkIH3t_WwoskBEiQAD8oY3jUgEoBvq9EWk6W7XX6AXR Wn-n-MpoIQ7jkX_NmoX8UaAkyw8P8HAQ
