My 2000 Chev Silverado began sputtering and surging until dying. It's a Vortec V8. Motor cranks great, but it just won't fire now. It does have plenty of gas. Any thoughts?

The vortec is know to have a problem with the fuel pressure regulator to leak. Its attached to the spider injectors under the upper intake manifold. If you take it off there should be black build up in there. Any clean spots is where fuel is leaking.

fuel pump, connect a pressure gauge to the check port, a vortec needs 60 psi to run correct, if you replace its better you replace the fuel fitler also
