2000 chevy Silverado coolant dump

Ok so I'm 17 and I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado
1500 5.3L and I have been experiencing heater
core problems. So I've had the heater core
unplugged from the system and bypassed for
several months now. I have just recently had it
replaced and plugged back in but once I got home I
imidently had to remove the fender liner to track
down a massive coolant leak and I seems to be
coming from some strange little rubber 90 degree
elbow at the bottom of the passenger side firewall
next to the exhaust manifold and I have no clue
what it could be other than a big problem can
anyone help me in finding out what it is so i can fix
that two?

That's the drain for the air conditioning evaporator. Your heater core is in the same "box" as the evaporator so the heater core is leaking and the coolant is draining from the evaporator drain. Hope that helps! Jim
