Loud popping noise from speakers, radio volume disappears then slowly fades back in

Asked by jgravitt1130 May 10, 2013 at 01:01 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LB RWD

Question type: General

Checked for shorts in wires and tried to manually cause event..no luck. Could there be an issue inside the radio itself? It is a factory am/fm radio in 2000 model chevrolet 1500 Silverado. Changed out battery within last year, but this was popping before then but not losing the volume.
