Transmission need reflashed?

Asked by dyllenmoses72 Jul 14, 2021 at 09:03 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD

My transmission was replaced in my uncles shop
and went to get it last night for not to find out that it
won’t shift. Was told the transmission was pulled
from a Cadillac all he said was Cadillac I know it’s a
4L60E says it on the side of it… is it possible the
pcm or computer needs reflashed to the new
transmission since it came out of a Cadillac?
PLEASE HELP

This is what happens when you install the wrong transmission. If your uncle is a transmission guy he should have told you that upfront.

The real question is "Are the two transmissions compatible?" Next, what year is the cadillac transmission (does it have an electronics module). If it is the same year and has no electronic module on it, then I doubt that "flash code" is an issue here. JMHO. (I doubt that the year 2000 vehicles had flashable transmission code.)

It's probably out of an Escalade (a Suburban with a Cadillac emblem on it) so it's wrong. Have your Uncle put the correct transmission in the vehicle at his expense! Hope that helps! Jim
