What transmission do I need? 2001 Chevy Silveraldo 1500, 5.7 ext cab, long bed?

Need to replace trannie, I got the numbers off the one on my truck. 4L60E. I
purchased one same number. Told it does not fit,it shorter than the old one.
Does it matter if the truck is short bed or long bed. ? 2001Chevy Silverado

Let's start here, first is if your truck is a 2001 it doesn't have a 5.7 unless you swapped it in there for some unknown reason. You either have a 4.8 or 5.3. You need a 4l60e from a 99+ silverado that had either a 5.3 or 4.8 engine
