2000 Chevy Silverado, Leak at fuel pressure return line (I think)

Asked by AKdiy Aug 30, 2021 at 12:55 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Started having a fuel smell when idling, mostly coming through the
windshield blowers, did a little under the hood investigation and saw fuel all
along the fuel rail originating from what I thought was the fuel pressure
regulator. I replaced the regulator and still have fuel smell, although it is
much lighter than it was. I had someone put the the key into start position to
run the pump and saw the fuel creep up the fuel return line ( believe that is
what that line is, correct me if i am wrong) do i need to replace the entire line,
or can i get away with a connecter/JB weld situation?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If it were me I would replace the fuel line, but, make certain you do actually catch the "leak point" in this replacement.
