how to work cassette tape

When placing a cassette tape in radio what are the procedures to get it to play

it should play automatically. if not try inserting the cassette and listen for the whir of the motors as they spin if you do not hear it there is probably a problem with your cassette deck motors if you do hear them moving then try hitting the play button its one of the radio preset buttons

I have a 1989 Chevy half ton Silverado Problem is that my cassette player all works great. But when you go to program it to the other side of the tape it will click and go there and the song will start playing for about a half a second and stop then go back to the other side again

It doesn’t play if you put a tape in it starts making a loud noise when you turn on radio and pushing buttons doesn’t help
