Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 5.3 litre engine.  He
stepped on his gas pedal and the truck would not move.  The truck only has
89,000 miles on it.  We are the original owners.  After he cut the truck off and
back on, it did fine.  Why would it do this?
