what would make a 2005 chevy truck drive fine until you go about 15-17 miles, then act like its running out of gas and all of a sudden quit? it starts right back up after it sits for about 5-10 minutes???it doesn't seem to be the fuel pump.

Clogged fuel filter or bad soon to fail fuel pump. Could be something else like a crank shaft position sensor. Are there any check engine lights lite up?
Something is getting warm and shutting you down. Perhaps when it quits give it a SMALL shot of starting fluid. If it tries to run then probably the problem lies in the fuel system if starting fluid doesn't cause it to fire then it is a lack of spark issue. The problem needs to be narrowed down to fuel missing or spark missing.
that's what I was thinking, when I'm driving it starts to chug like its running out of gas, the last time it done it I kicked it up into neutral and revved the engine and it seemed to help for a few miles but it done it again after about 10 more miles and died completely but started right back up after about 10 minutes and drove fine...then it done it again.... I I don't think its loosing spark cause it keeps re-starting,...(haven't done but going to try -- ->) if the fuel pump is still registering good pressure could it still be going bad?
You could check the fuel pressure when it quits to see if is still there. I would check the fuel pressure before driving it (engine idling) and then drive it till it quits and recheck the fuel pressure. If it is still good the problem could be spark provided that the injectors are pulsing. Also you might unplug the crank sensor and plug it back in to see if that changes anything. Do only one thing at a time.

Try pulling the 2 closest o2 sensors out and see if it runs better. Sounds like bad cats or cat
