I have a 2005 1500 silverado and the radiator fans are staying on after the truck is off and drained my battery dead. Replaced the relay but no luck there. Any suggestions?

In addition SES indicated knock
sensor code. Had the knock sensors,
cleared codes, and SES has not turn
back on, but the cooling fan is still
draining the battery. I read some post
about Powertrain Control Module
being relate to both.

scrub the main ground clean with a wirebrush, as this gets a layer of corrosion with every start...wirebrush and pliers for the lug end....wirebrush for the spot where it bolts to...put them together for restored ground potential and the modules will behave themselves then~.....with a NEW battery (if older than five)~

Ok, I need to clean the block temperature sensor connector, or the fan connector?

Srvelis1....replace these items...they are cheap...test for continuity...leakage to ground with your multimeter~

I replaced the heat temperature sensor and the relays are all good , fans are still on , any suggestions

Same here. Cleaned grounds, pcm connectors, replaced battery. Clear the codes, and it’s good for a day or two. Then light comes back on (check engine) and now it starts skipping while driving and the light flashes. Did order a code reader today to help diagnose.......

Brett, I just took apart my trucks powertrain control module and there was water in the conection on the left. Try there. I think my pcm is fried

I actually took mine apart also and found same thing. But I took a toothbrush and contact cleaner to the pcm, found some corrosion in the connection and cleaned all that out. Cleaned plug with oxy acetalene torch tip cleaner and contact cleaner flollowed by a very liberal dose of contact cleaner and mine “seems” to be ok after about 4 hours driving.......

That seems to be the issue with mine. I had codes p0200, p0118, p0068, p0049. After I cleaned my pcm under the battery all the codes are cleared and my 05 Silverado 1500 is back to normal. It's hard to find posts were the problem is fixed. Good luck to you guys and I hope my comments were helpfull

I had the same problem and it was water in the main computer luckily didn't burn up only cost $46 to drain water put silica on it

i have a 2006 4.3 and my fans will not run i have all new fuses and relays i can jumper the fans and they run fine any ideas

Have a 2005 sliverado with two fans for radiator trying to find fuse box the goes on the side of regular fuse they don't sell it in the usa
