how to get the check engine light off when problem has been fixed

went to auto zone .problem was evap system leak . I had just replacer the fuel pump with sensor and I found out I hadn't tightened the round metal cap enough . next day I took a screwdriver and hammer and tapped it in the fitted grooves . check light is still on .

You can go back to Auto Zone and use their scanner to reset the codes. Need a scanner to reset codes.
