How I turn my auto headlights off for day driving

The Daytime running lights are part of the cars lighting system and are on for safety. If you want to disable them, you would need to have a mechanic hook the car up to the computer system to then program them to off. I am not sure on your model vehicles, but sometimes this can be done, sometime not.

On my 2010 Silverado truck if I want to turn OFF daytime running lights all I have to do is to turn the light rotary switch all the way to the left (CCW) from the "auto-on" resting place and release it and the lights are OFF then. The problem is that you have to do this every time you start the truck. I heard that this can be reprogrammed by the dealer service department if required (they do this for the police). Not free.
