Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an 03 2500 HD 6.0 V8 with just a little over
a100 thousand miles. I had the water pump and
thermostat replaced. I'm still having an issue with
coolant smell. Can anybody help. The shop
seemed to think that it might be a pinhole in the
heater core. Anyone?

If you smell inside the cab, then yes, I would suspect the heater core.
I don't know, if it was made of wood I can fix it. I'm a carpenter on a tight budget trying to keep my 2000 Silverado running and it looks like I have a couple leaks

Check the passenger floor board undervthe carpet. If the carpet is wet and smells sweet its prk it may be difficult to determine wo moving the carpet and padding out of the way. If you are losing coolant and find no obvious visual signs of a leak check the floorbooard.
