Vortec 6.0L coolant leak

This is mainly a sanity check for me. I have an 04 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 with a 6.0L Vortec with 182K miles.  I replaced the original factory water pump in March of this year (2013).  No issues at all until a week ago when I found a small (about 2 inch diameter) coolant puddle under the passenger side right below the inside of the A/C motor.  I traced this leak to the heater hose\water pump connection.  My question is about the heater hose fitting that goes into the water pump.  Is it logical to assume that since this pump is only a few months old with about 3K miles on it that the pump is okay, and the heater hose(s) are causing this problem?  I thought it could be the thermostat housing but the angle of the water pump would suggest that the heater hose connection if leaking would run down hill to just below the thermostat housing and blow back from there.  I checked the housing bolts and they are still tight, the thermostat and seal were replaced at the same time the water pump was.  This little leak is driving me nuts...HELP HELP!!!

You are insane. That has been established. (Forgive me I couldn't resist that Ok?) Actually it is not safe to assume that the pump is OK> When they rebuild them, they put bearings and impellers in, and bead blast everything to make it look good. But the reason I say this is I have bought water pumps in my "career" that have been faulty right out of the box. More than one time. The casing could be cracked, it's not like they X Ray them before shipping. That is why I say it's not safe to assume the pump is good.

Funny guy! There is nothing coming out of the weep hole to indicate that the seal, bearings or impeller is gone... it's been running fine since I put in on in March. Based on where the leak is it makes me believe that it's something in that area. The harmonic balancer and the block are dry.

Well here is the rundown. As it turned out DavidH25 was correct, the front heater hose inlet (it is a tube with an O-ring and pressed into the water pump case) had developed a leak.. I suspect it had come loose from the case due to faulty installation when it was pressed in, or had a pinched O-ring that finally just gave out. None the less I replaced the pump and it has been working great. I have put 600 miles on it so far and no problems. I bought this pump at Autozone (the most expensive one they had) and I will say they are good to their word about the warranty. They replaced it with a new one with no questions asked.

Done replaced the water pump and all the heater hose and they fitting but still have to had water about every two to three weaks
