Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Im just looking for ideas here because my friends 1993 Explorer has all of the above, Rough Idle, Rough Riding, Check Engine Light. he is bringing it to get it checked but the light keeps going on and off. And this came on like 15 min. after after it was dynoed for emmissions testing. Anything you can think of post just looking for possible problems, going to Autozone in the morning!!

get back with the code. could be anything.
I agree, probably IAC or a MAP sensor, they're really common problems, especially on fords (but then again, so is everything), but it really could be anything... won't know without the obd code
Autozone couldnt do the codes where should he bring it, they said only 95 and up so he has to go to a shop i guess right or are there other places??
advance/discount auto parts (if you have one) usually will for obd1. purchase of your own code reader for an obd1 is fairly cheap too.
stopped up cat would do it, would cause a light. engine misfire would do it, would trip a light. a number of sensors i can think of would do it and trip a light. stop guessing!!!!!! this site is for honest help. If you like throwing money a parts to solve your problem good for you.
thanks....he didnt need to take it there....spark plugs were bad and its fine now, thanks for the help
1994 ford explorer still idles rough after restart.( only after engine has been running for a while). A minute after restart the engine idles at a normal idle rate.
