93 Probe gt 2.5 DOHC 24 valve

Asked by Patrick Mar 22, 2016 at 04:47 AM about the 1993 Ford Probe GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my car is completely stock before I
bought it about 10k miles ago (has 74k
now) had all new wires and plugs put in. But
here's my problem I'll be on the gas driving
and I'll feel it start to studder then when I let
off the gas all the way its going by itself I'll
put it in neutral coming up to a light and it
revs up to 3k by itself (throttle cable not
moving) I'll go to push back on the gas to go
and it will studder and then cut my engine
off. I'll go to start it again and it won't for
about 10 minutes. But I'll fire young Tina
back up and she drives like a dream for a
while then randomly out of nowhere do it
again. Please if you have any idea let me
know. I also just changed the air filter but
didn't check the mass airflow sensor
