Help! My crazy truck is driving me insane!

Asked by broncolady Nov 06, 2014 at 06:42 PM about the 1990 Ford Bronco II 2 Dr Eddie Bauer 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had a new starter and
flywheel put on. Ran great until 2 days
ago what looks like transmission fluid
started leaking out..then today it
stopped leaking but my truck  was
lacking ..when I put the pedal to the
floor it wouldn't accelerate for a few
seconds then it TOOK off like nothing
was wrong. Its running ok but cuts
out a little.  It was a 4wd but it was
disconnected when I bought it. Any
idea what might be going on?

First thing would to be,and hope you have already,is replace the fluid lost, second if it lost the fluid,it has a seal leak, and will do it again,or line leak, have it checked,if fluid get,s low it will burn band,s in tranny, and cause it to slip.

I put one quart in it today but tomorrow I go to the mechanic to pay the remaining$400 on the flywheel replacement job. I'm wondering if he didn't put it all back together right and that's why tranny fluid came out. He charged me$950 to do the job and if it's his fault, I don't want him to tell me it's something else and try to charge me even more! It's an old truck and has become a money pit.haha..thanks for your answer, Hon.
