My Crown Victoria miss fires from 80 to 100mph

Asked by Nomu Mar 14, 2018 at 04:29 AM about the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria 4 Dr LX Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi,

I have very strange problem with my 1999 Crown Victoria. My car starts miss
firing from 50mph to 60mph. When it reaches 50mph, car starts to hesitate
and continue doing it since it reaches above 60mph. Same thing happens if I
drive constantly at for example at 100mph and I reduce speed to 90mph, car
hesitates until I increase speed.

Also check the injector coil boots. Check engine light on? Could be the injector(s).

Hi, Replaced EGR, checked the coils and all working fine, replaced fuel filter. Still same issue. And yes, one more thing which I forgot to mention is my car is consuming a lot of gasoline than before.

what does the exhaust look like ? what do you see on the bottom of the oil fill cap ? been going through coolant ?

Take a look at the exhaust with the engine running. See if there is any smoke of a white or dark color.
