have a 1990 ford ecoline 15 passenger van that is backfireing and stalling. Have been told it could be the MAF or the MAP sensor. Where are they located?

Backfiring is usually a timing issue. The mass air flow sensor is in the intake system on the main hose that leads to the engine.

It will run ok for first couple of minutes. The hotter the engine gets the worse it runs. you have to accelerate and decelerate repeatedly just to get any speed out of it. Not exactly sure of engine size. I will go to the church tomorrow and get more details of engine size and then maybe someone can help me better with more information

You probably have a Triton V8, either the 4.6 or the 5.4. You should probably do a tuneup. Is the check engine light on? If so get the codes read.

The answer above is based on your post that says the van is a 1999. If it is a 1990 it could be a 302, 351 or something else.
