2006 Ford Escape stalled will not crank

While driving my 2006 Escape lunged forward,
overdrive turned itself off, lost acceleration,  4
wheel started flashing and now won't do anything.
What could possibly be wrong?

scan for codes even if the light ain't on and get the definitions , that's where I would start , do a search and find out what the flashing light means , could be something simple
