2006 Ford Escape wont take a cd at all. How do you know or find out if there is a cd already in there?
Gives LOAD ERROR message. Don't know if there is a cd in it or not. it's a 6 cd changer. It makes sounds like it's going to work, but it won't spit anything out and it won't take a cd in either.

One of the trays are probably stuck or broken. You most likely will have to replace the radio

I have had a similar issue with mine, Get an old CD, a throw away one Press the Eject button on the radio, it will likely give you the error, While it is doing this , put your cd in the slot, you kind of have to press hard, and rock it up and down you should hear it catch something and then it will move, and eject the cd It does seem to be that the carriage hangs and causes this , but after you fix it, it seems to work ok for a while.
