Cruise Control not working

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition 5.3L Trition. Cruise Control does not work, the light doesn’t turn on. I’ve checked fuses and there good. I’ve checked the connecting box in front and it’s connected as well. Ive looked at the throttle and it clear no obstruction also. I’ve looked under the steering wheel where the pedals are and I noticed a hard cable with a small cylinder that connects and leads through the floor towards the engine bay. Not sure if this is something with it. Anyone got a clue? Thanks,
