Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a Ford Expedition that won't drive in Drive gear. It started last week doing this and haven't been able to get it to my mechanic yet. It drives in 2nd and 1st ok and reverse still works as well. Any ideas as to what is wrong with it ? Or what I can do myself to check? Any answers would be so so appreciated !! Thanks

If the 1st and 2nd are in the correct spot on your linkage then you have a serious transmission problem that will probably need to go to a shop to get repaired otherwise you may have a loose shift linkage that has just lost its index. Check linkage first.
