I have a 2005 ford EB expedition my engine started hesitating while driving then actually cut off once i got to a stop light. It started right back up. This time with the check engine light on.

Most likely a bad coil. Have engine scanned with a code reader to determine what cylinder(s) are misfiring. Then change that coil and plug. Driving while engine is misfiring will damage the catalytic converter.
