In my 02 Ford Explorer, when the AC is turned on, the fuel gauge bottoms out and it blows warm air. Any ideas?

Obviously there is a short. With the engine running and the blower on max check to see that the compressor is not running. It probably is not. Then turn off the ac and blower. If the guage returns to normal then get a copy of the wiring diagram and a meter and begin doing some checking. If you're lucky, it will be in the switch.
