What could be the cause of roaring fan noise?

Anyone know what would be causing random roaring fan noise
when accelerating?  Mostly when vehicle is cold, or it's raining,
and sometimes just out of nowhere.  We had fan changed.
Tranny shifts well. Everything is working properly.

Gene answered about a year ago

Usually that is caused by a fan clutch holding on too long. Could be a temperature sensing issue.
