2006 ford explorer has a/c ghost, car runs fine for about 0 min. with the a/c on and blows cold, then car starts to run poorly, check engine light comes on and says not charging, have had new battery installed and had alternator checked 3 times, had codes checked and all that came up was of an o2 sensor, stumped, or do i have a bad a/c compressor

how is the car on temp when it starts running bad. is it just at the point that it reaches normal running temp
AC compressor cycling on and off frequently indicates you possibly are low on refrigerant. It should not affect the engine operation. The compressor could be going out and placing a severe strain on the engine to overcome the resistance of a worn out compressor. Try this. Start the engine cold but do not turn on the AC system. The clutch on the AC should not be turning. If the clutch is turning, especially is turning in jerky movements when off the clutch is fried. If the engine operates normally without AC, suspect the compressor and clutch.

And it's true about the ac compressor. Have experienced that same issue.
