Noise while driving

2000 Ford Explorer 266000 Miles, there is a
popping noise & the car jerks when this popping
ocurrs. Is this a CV Joint or 4WD Auto problem?

You know , 266,000 miles is close to the end of life for any car.... I wouldn't think about throwing good money after bad.... your call.
