Ford explorer noise

Drove fine to work today. Went to the store and
when I came out it was making a loud noise under
the hood that sounds like a lawnmower. When I
press the gas the noise just gets much louder. All
fluids are good, check engine light came on, when
had it checked guy said it could be a fan sensor.
Help please.

If the noise is just the fan running the guy who looked at it may be correct. If this was a qualified mechanic I would go with his opinion.
