An IR thermometer can check if radiator is flowing good, or has crusted-up "dead spots." Check water pump has good flow. (Squeeze top and bottom radiator hoses to gauge pressure.) Be sure all air is bled out of system. A head gasket issue can cause overheating, check coolant for with "Block Tester" for combustion contaminates. Check cooling fans are working when they should be, a bad temp sensor may not be turning them on.

Bleed air from system like this. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle once vehicle starts to reach operating temp thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back.
