06 freestyl

Hope it isn't the brain but leaning that way.  Lots of
new parts very recent.  Battery, air compressor,
starter,  rotors and pads on rear.  And two days ago
alternator.  ECM says overheating but check
charging system.  I have numerous times and yet
still dead dash tranny  I think is only one gear and
not sure which one.  Plz need Input. I understand
the brain is the culprit but how do I b sure
