Asked by Maddenny Mar 21, 2019 at 12:23 AM about the 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 4 Door SuperCab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So today I was putting on a new battery terminal. Well I ended up busting my
battery. So I went out and bought a new battery, replaced the old and the
battery light is still on.

Check the charging rate. Put a volt meter meter across the Pos and Neg terminals. On charging the volt meter should read 13.5 volts.

When battery light comes on nine times out of ten the alternator has stopped charging and needs to be replaced other one percent blown alternator fuse or wiring problem.
