2002 ford Taurus missfire and red hot exaust manifold rear 3 cyl
Hello all,
Daughters 2002 Taurus AC pulley failed. I got car AFTER a local (to her work) repair shop started work to remove/replace AC compressor, estimate too high and she asked dad to fix.
Clutch assembly with pulley $65+belt $28
After reassembly and fired-up the car noticed it wanted to run very rough at idle but would smooth-out above 1K RPM.
Thinking the CPU needed some time to re-acquire data after battery disconnected for 3 day's let it run for a couple of min while checking for broken wires or disconnected vacuum hoses.
All of a sudden noticed that the rear exhaust manifold had gotten cherry red........Do not have a code reader accessible till tomorrow, but thought of asking as what I may have disconnected while lowering the front part of the cradle to cause this.
Any pointers greatly appreciated.
A.
P.S. Engine was running perfect until the pulley froze-up and tossed the belt (engine shut off as soon as the belt ripped).
