2002 Ford Taurus has no heat or air coming through vents, only through defrost

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Turn dial manually to air or heat, I have
nothing coming through the vents.  Only
defrost works.  Is this part the blend door
actuator?

Does it function properly when you tell it to change temperature? If not I would look into blend door actuator, otherwise, if it wont let you decide what vents its coming out of then I would have a look at the mode actuator. Hope this helps

It does change temperature. I did buy a blend door actuator. Do you know of an easy video to watch so I can change it? Tyvm!!!!

So it's not the blend door actuator but the mode actuator instead? The temp works, it's just not coming out of the different vents I tell ll it to. Hot defrost working only.

Its possible that they take the same part. You'll have to talk to the parts store to confirm this, some can even get a printout for replacement instructions
