Might try emailing 18TandSVT on this site. I am not 100% sure that there isn't.
Yes, the 4th gen Taurus (00-07) is offered with 2 engine choices. 3.0L DOHC "Duratec" and 3.0L OHV "Vulcan"
i can't say for sure but i believe both 3.0's are available in the SES. i've been searching for a used taurus for my wife and it seems both engines were offered. the Dohc models always have an emblem on the front fenders.
The SES always had both engines available - 3.0 OHV Vulcan standard, 3.0 DOHC Duratec optional. SES Sport automatically came with the Duratec. LX was Vulcan only, 2001+ SE (and late 2000) was Vulcan only, SES through 2004 (when it was discontinued) was either, and SEL through 2004 was DUratec only, 2005 SEL was either (VUlcan standard), and 2006-2007 Taurus (either SE or SEL) was Vulcan only. 2000 SE may be either - early SELs had no "L."
