Lost key
I lost my transponder key along with having to buy
a new battery I can't afford a new one. I do have a
key cut that doesnt have a transponder...Either I
need some other way to start my vehicle or I'll have
to start walking everywhere (its winter in michigan
so not ideal) please help.

You need at least one working transponder-chipped key in order to duplicate another one and have the anti-theft (PATs) system accept it. If you have zero transponder chipped key then you have to take it in and have new keys programmed into the PATs. A non-chipped key is just a valet key and will not work.
He did say he was from Michigan, so sledding might be an option...
Well KenF is right but if he has skis or snow shoes he might be able to get around on them It must be Hell living in Michigan !!!
