2004 ford Taurus SE. What is this part?
What is the part that is connected to the upper radiator hose coming out of
the Radiator? it has a smaller hose on top just like the upper radiator hose,
but have no idea what part it is....Its really hard to really detail about the part
since Im not very good with car engines and such
Coolant bypass hose, it runs to the top of the water pump. Post a pic so we can be sure?
This is coming out of the Upper radiator hose.

I know this is an old thread but it may help someone. This is the part ( in whole) that I had to get for my car that had these hoses. In the picture posed "This is a smaller hose that attaches to the unknown part" That black piece in the background had to be replaced because water was running constantly hitting it. The hoses above it, connects to radiator hose and heater core I believe. Hope this helps
