the belts new?right??? not glazed??idler pulley /bearing are cheap..hope you ruled out the other bearings...alt .---------
Normally what causes the squeak or squeal, is a worn belt tensioner. Also the AC compressor bearing. The belt has to be off to check that. Worn idler pulleys make the belt out of alignment also.
Just put a new idler pulley on it, they're cheap, takes 5 minutes. Hard to believe a shop wouldn't have done this in the first place. However, as you own a Ford Taurus, if that "squeak" is not coming from the belt it may be the cam synchronizer - you might describe it as a squeak or a persistent "chirp," and sounds just like a bad pulley. Take it to another shop, and get a proper diagnosis on it, google ford taurus cam synchronizer as well for a better idea of the noise.
I need some help on fixing r putting my belt back on
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus the water pump is dripping on the serpentine belt causing intermittent squeaking and the belt pops off on occasion
