I have a Allroad 2003 and recently experience a excesive comsumption of motor oil, my mechanic told me that extra comsumption is because the turbocharger have problem, It is that be possible?

The bearings in the turbo charger are oil cooled. It's a good practice to let the motor idle before shutting it off. That allows the oil to cool the bearings. If the engine is shut off without idling, the oil could exceed the temperature rating and break down. Is the mechanic saying the consumption is from the turbo bearing or from the rings?
